New job opening | Bakery Manager
We are seeking a new bakery manager to join our team

We are seeking a skilled person to be responsible and lead the daily operations of Collective Bakery. The ideal candidate has professional experience in similar position, excellent organizational skills, a flair for business and real interest in people leadership, logistics and optimizing production flow. Good communication skills, also experience with digital communication are seen as a plus. We aim to start the position January 2nd, 2024.

You will be referring to the company’s Head of Production.

Coffee Collective is a leading Specialty Coffee business with 8 Coffee Shops, own Bakery, and direct cooperation with Coffee Farmers. We have high ambitions on Quality and we both focus on and record our Sustainability progress. (social, environmental and financial).

We expect that Coffee Collectives B Corp certification is extended to include Collective Bakery by the start of this new Bakery Manager position.

Responsibilities of the role:

  • Leading a team of about 20 staff members
  • General optimization and development of the bakery, including maintenance of the facilities
  • Employee responsibility; incl. scheduling, recruiting, training and staff development
  • Financial responsibility for both the bakery sales outlet and the bakery production department
  • Following up on budgets together with Head Baker
  • Responsible for tasks related to the Danish Food Agency (Fødevarestyrelsen) and The Danish Working Environment Authority (Arbejdstilsynet)
  • Responsible for communication and development of collaboration between the bakery production, bakery sale and coffee shops, together with Head Baker and Head of Production
  • Continuous work on improving the sustainability of the bakery

Essential Skills and Qualifications:


Management experience

  • Staff Management
  • Experience working with numbers, financial planning and following up budgets
  • Business mindset
  • From a bakery or similar work environment
  • Proven economic results in previous work relationships


Personal qualifications

  • Good communication and collaboration skills
  • Great organization and planning skills (optimizing workflows, procurement and processes)
  • Motivated to join and lead a department in continuous development
  • Positive and solution-oriented mind-set

Working hours are 37 hours per week principally between Monday-Sunday 06-20. For example, 4-5 workdays per week; 2 shifts in bakery sale, 3 days in office/admin/training/ developmental projects. Our bakery operation is a 7-day business, and we expect the Bakery Manager to operate a healthy rotating schedule for themselves and their team.
